The Vice-Chancellor Federal University of Technology, Minna, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 led members of the University Management on a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, Mr. Ogundele Joshua Ayodeji.
Speaking during the visit Prof. Kuta Vice-Chancellor, noted that the role of the new CP in terms of security cannot be over emphasized.
The Vice-Chancellor who disclosed that the purpose of visit was to familiarise with the new leadership of the Command also solicited for the CP’s cooperation in addressing security challenges in the University.
Responding, CP Ayodeji who received the Principal Officers in his office called for synergy between the Command and the University with a view to ensuring a secured environment that guarantees smooth teaching and learning in the institution.
Mr. Ayodeji who was recently appointed as the 36th Commissioner of Police to the Command also reiterated his Command’s commitment to supporting the University in addressing all security challenges. He disclosed that he had already directed the Kpakungu Divisional Command and the Command’s Technical Team to work hand in hand with the University in order to ensure swift response in curtailing any Security challenge that might arise.
“We will be ready to respond to your security needs. We will not get tired if we are called upon,” the CP further assured.
Other highlight of the occasion include the presentation of a plaque to the Vice-Chancellor as a mark of honour and appreciation by the CP.
The Registrar Mr. Amos Nmadu Kolo; Bursar, Mrs. Hadiza Goje, fcna, fcti and the University Librarian accompanied the VC on the visit.
Deputy Director, Information and Publications, Mrs. Lydia Legbo and the Ag. Chief Security Officer of the University (Rtd) Capt. Isa Mohammed were on the entourage.
