About Us

The Legal Unit is directly under the Vice Chancellors Office. It is situated at the second floor of the Senate building, Room 227. The office was established on the 16th of May, 2011 and it is designed as one of the offices under the Vice Chancellor. It has three (3) lawyers and the head is directly answerable to the Vice Chancellor.

Mission

The Mission of the Unit is to build an excellent and efficient legal Unit worthy of emulation by other universities. The Unit aspires to be the best established and efficient Legal Unit amongst Nigerian universities.

Barr. Evelyn Pambelo Hussaini was born in Minna on November 24th 1970. She holds a diploma in law (1991) and Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree (1996) and was called to the Nigeria Bar in 1998. After which she did her National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) at the Niger State Ministry of Justice. She worked with the Niger State Judiciary for several years before transferring to Federal University of Technology, Minna. She has over 32 years of cognate experience in Legal Administration and Practice. In the course of duty, she has received training within and outside this country in Court Administration, Justice System within Academic Environment, Intellectual Property Rights Policy and Management, Procurement Procedure and Criminal Justice Reform. Others include Democratic Value System, Tertiary Education Trust Fund Act and Due Process, International Trade Contract Management and Freedom of Information Acts as well as Developing Competence Indices for Sustainable Development in Tertiary Institution. Being a professional administrator, she has served in many University Committees. She is very supportive and always focused to achieve a shared goal, meticulous and passionate about fairness and justice and the plight of vulnerable people, loves to collaborate and share experience with others and as such, she is able to adapt very well in different environments. She is well travelled and has spent time in South Africa, Israel, United Kingdom, United State of America, Rome and Rwanda. Her hobbies include reading and travelling. She is married with children.
