University Health Services

The University Health Services Department of the Federal University of Technology, Minna started as one of the pioneer services of the then newly established University 1983. The clinic became fully operational on 7th June, 1984 with four (4) Nurses and one (1) typist. A Doctor later joined the team after six (6) months.
The trend continued in that format to the present stage we are now; the coming of the pharmacy, laboratory, medical records and the dental units respectively.

Mission

To take care of the Primary Health Care needs of the Students, Staff and eligible Staff relations in accordance with National Health Insurance guidelines. To promote preventive healthcare needs of the University Community by ensuring sound environmental health, Immunization and adequate dissemination of Health Education Information.
 

Vision

To articulate good policy framework that will safeguard the health of all University Students, Staff and eligible Staff relations.

  • Routine consultation on out-patient.
  • Primary curative care on out-patient for minor to moderate sicknesses of Medical, Gynecological, Surgical and Dental origin.
  • Laboratory Services to cover most routine laboratory investigations.
  • In-patient observation for not more than 24-hour period.
  • Prompt referral of cases that require secondary and/or tertiary care with adequate ambulance services.
  • Periodic Health Education to the University Community on topical Health issues.
  • Ante-natal care for expectant members of the University Community
  • 24-Hour emergency services.
