About Us

SERVICOM, Federal University of Technology, Minna, was officially launched in the year 2007, by former Vice Chancellor, Prof. M.S. Audu; in compliance with Federal Government directive to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of Government to establish such unit, with the mandate to coordinate and ensure citizen-focused service delivery. Prof. O. O. Morenikeji was the first Nodal Officer in 2007. He was succeeded by Prof. (Mrs.) V. I. Ezenwa in January, 2008. Prof. N. G. Nsofor directed the affairs of SERVICOM from 2009 to 2010; while Prof. S. B. Oyeleke was Focal Officer from 2010 to February, 2018. From February, 2018 to date, the unit has been under the leadership of Prof. A. Y. Kabiru as Focal officer. Federal University of Technology, Minna was the first university in Nigeria to launch its Service Charter in 2008; a fit that earned the University a Five-Star rating in service delivery. Since inception, SERVICOM unit of Federal University of Technology, Minna has consistently ensured that workers in the university (teaching and non-teaching) that have been recognized with offering services diligently over the years are appreciated through Annual Service Awards. From 2009 to 2018, a large number of dedicated members of staff have benefitted from these reward mechanism. The Unit Conduct surveys and opinion polls on service delivery in the Service windows and continues to receive and redress complaints from staff, students, and other service beneficiaries.

ADAMU YUSUF KABIRU; B.Sc (UNISOK), M.SC (UNIBEN), Ph.D (FUTMINNA);, Professor of Biochemistry, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger state, Nigeria; was born on 9th August, 1963. He attended L.E.A. primary school Zungeru, Niger State between 1969 and 1976; Dendo Secondary School, Agaie, Niger State between 1976 and 1981; University of Sokoto between 1981 and 1986; University of Benin between 1991 and 1993; Federal University of Technology, Minna between 1999 and 2010. Adamu has a vast working experience; he was Education Officer with the Niger State Ministry of Education between 1988 and 1993; Lecturer II with the Niger State College of Education, Minna between 1993 and 1994; and rose through the ranks from 1994 to the position of Professor of Biochemistry in 2016 at the Federal University of Technology, Minna. His major area of research is the exploration of Natural products for the treatment of infectious tropical diseases like African trypanosomiasis (sleeping sickness) and malaria. More than sixty (60) papers originating from these researches have been published in reputable national and international journals. The Professor is married and blessed with children. He was Head of Department, Biochemistry between 2012 and 2016 and is presently the Focal Officer, SERVICOM, FUT Minna and a member of the University Governing Council.
