A delegation from the German Agency for International Cooperation, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), led by Mr. Peik Bruhns, paid a courtesy visit to the Federal University of Technology, Minna on Thursday, July 30, 2025. The team was received by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, and members of the University Management at the APC office, Main Campus, Gidan Kwano.

Speaking during the visit, Mr. Bruhns stated that the purpose of their visit was to further engage with the University on the Inspire, Create, Start, and Scale (ICSS) modules, which are part of the Entrepreneurship Development Training Centre’s initiatives. He noted that staff involved in the ICSS in service training had been retrained following a comprehensive content review, earning positive feedback from the National Steering Committee of SMEDAN, Kaduna Business School, and other stakeholders.

He commended the University’s Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) for its commitment to supporting business incubation and skill development within the surrounding communities.

In his response, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, expressed appreciation for GIZ’s continued support, acknowledging the solid foundation the agency had laid at the University’s entrepreneurship centre. He confirmed that the ICSS training programmes were running smoothly and without interruption.

Prof. Kuta highlighted the growing enrollment and graduation rates at the University, while expressing concern over the limited job opportunities available in the labour market. He stressed the need to prepare students to become self-reliant and job creators. He further noted that entrepreneurship training at FUT, Minna is not restricted to students alone, as the University is exploring ways for staff members to also benefit from the programmes.
