The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA), Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta has inaugurated new transmission equipment provided by the University Management to Search Media. The event took place today, Monday, August 5, 2024, at the Mohammed Badamasi Babangida House, Main Campus.
In his address, Prof. Kuta encouraged the media team to utilize the equipment effectively to enhance the station’s operations for the benefit of the institution and its community. He assured continued support from the University to improve facilities and resources.
During an interview on the radio program “Morning Ride,” Prof. Kuta highlighted the collaborative efforts between stakeholders and the University community. He reiterated his commitment to elevating the institution’s global standing through research and innovation. Prof. Kuta also emphasized the University’s aim to improve its employer rating from fourth to first in the country by consistently producing industry-ready graduates.
Regarding the University’s relationship with its alumni, Prof. Kuta noted a strong synergy fostered through meaningful engagements with alumni both within Nigeria and abroad. He mentioned that these engagements have started yielding positive outcomes, such as the payment of tuition fees for some indigent students and the renovation of the bus park for students’ convenience.
The Station Manager of Search Media, Mr. Kingsley Oguche, remarked that the high-quality equipment would enhance sound and signal quality around the University and its host community, in line with Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) guidelines. He also noted that the station could now transmit live broadcasts from anywhere within the institution.
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Search Media Board, Prof. Akim Osunde, and other staff members.
