The Nigeria Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, Niger State branch has facilitated the donation of 30 books to the Department of Estate Management and Valuation, Federal University of Technology, Minna.
The donation took place on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 in the office of the Head of Department of Estate Management and Valuation, main campus, Gidan Kwano, Minna.
Presenting the books, the Chairman of the Institution Niger State Branch ESV Ahmed Abdullahi highlighted that following the request of the state branch, the national body donated 90 books to three Institutions in Niger State, adding that to those of Federal Polytechnic Bida and State Polytechnic, Zungeru had already been delivered with each school receiving 30 copies of the book.
He explained that the protracted strike by university staff unions affected the early delivery to the University. The Chairman noted further that the books would help the students of this university to improve their learning in their respective fields. Receiving the books, the Head of Department Estate Management and Valua- tions, Prof. ESV Olurotimi Kemiki appreciated the team for their coming and delivery of the books.
He reminded that Nigeria Institute of Surveyors and Valuers was enacted into law in 1975, with one of its cardinal role of promoting knowledge of the profession across the country, adding that, as such, the book donation was in agreement with the pivotal objectives of their institution; which is to promote real estate knowledge across the country.
Prof. Kemiki observed that the books cover lots of areas in their field of study adding that it will enrich the library of the Department. “We receive these books with all sense of appreciation. NIESV Niger state has been very supportive of the department. Even during our last accreditation exercise, the financial support from NIESV and other forms of support from other bodies had helped improve our department,” the Don stated.
