VC visits GK Schools

In continuation of his familiarisation visit to Schools, the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Technology Minna, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta was on Thursday, 26 January 2023 at four Schools at the Main Campus, Gidan Kwano.

The Schools visited were: School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology; School of Environmental Technology; School of Infrastructure, Process Engineering and Technology, as well as School of Electrical Engineering and Technology.

While appreciating the various schools for their warm reception the VC maintained that the essence of the visit was to let them know the focus and direction his administration.

Prof. Kuta stated that for a system to make meaningful progress it has to ensure that the welfare of the staff is key. He therefore assured that staff would be accorded their rights and privileges in line with the rules of the University.

The VC reiterated that there would be deployment of ICT in the governance of the institution as some courses will have to migrate immediately to e-teaching.

He also appealed to all professors in the schools to come on board to drive the University forward in the area of research as well as mentoring the younger ones to be able to come up with publications in high impact journals, so that the system can grow.

The VC urged all the staff to continue to do the good work they have started and promised to address all the problems encountered by the schools.

He said the management would continue to count on their support when the need arises. “The VC is not a super human, “Prof. Kuta said, stressing the need for everyone to be involved in moving the University forward. Earlier in their welcome remarks, the Deans of the various schools expressed their delight to be part of the new administration, as they prayed God to preserve, guide and direct the new VC, just as they expressed hope of having a good working relationship with him.
