Entrepreneurship and Business Studies Department

The Department of Entrepreneurship and Business Studies is one of the three departments that constitute the School of Innovation Technology (SIT) of the Federal University of Technology, Minna.

The Department alongside with 2 other Departments came in to being in 2009/2010. The department presently has successfully produced three (3) sets of graduate. The Postgraduate Diploma in Management Technology (PGMT) program was transferred from General Studies (GST) department. The Department started with seven academic staff. Currently the Department has twenty-two (22) academic staff of different categories and four (4) non-academic staff. The Department has gotten the approval for M.Tech and PhD programme which will take-off by 2017/2018 session

The objectives of the department programme are to:

(a) Train students to acquire skills in all areas of entrepreneurship and management.
(b) Produce graduates with entrepreneurial skills and background that will manage productive resources most effectively.
(c) Produce graduates that will execute physical and economic projects in private and public sectors of the economy.
(d) Produce graduates who will harmonize their technical and management knowledge and skill to accelerate the industrial development of the nation.
(e) Produce graduates who are truly self-reliant as enterprise managers, and
(f) Apply the principles and theory of management in disciplines like accounting, production, marketing, human resources and operations management for optimum economic efficiency.
