About Career Development Centre

At the Federal University of Technology Minna, we recognize that the landscape of higher education is evolving rapidly, driven by advancements in technology and the ever-changing demands of the global job market. To stay ahead of these trends and ensure that our students are well-prepared for their future careers, it is imperative to establish a state-of-the-art Career Service Centre (CSC) at our technologically driven University. The goal is to provide a CSC that will serve as a cornerstone in guiding students toward successful and fulfilling career paths.

Biography

Meet Engr. Dr. Caroline O. Alenoghena an Associate Professor of Telecommunications Engineering, Director Entrepreneurship Centre and initiator FUTEC Business Incubation Hub. Dr Caroline is an Entrepreneurial educator, certified CEFE instructor, with specialty in training on entrepreneurial skills. She is a member of the International Network of CEFE Facilitators and the Coordinator CEFE unit FUTMinna. She is an expert in Entrepreneurship Skills Training and Material/Curriculum development with over 10 years’ experience in the coaching of entrepreneurs and start-ups and as a value chain instructor. A Certified Master Trainer in Financial Literacy, Caroline loves working with young people encouraging entrepreneurial endeavors while promoting the Centre’s brand of “ACADO-Prenuership” which means Turning Academic Research Findings Into Viable Ventures And Businesses.

The FUTMINNA–OPay Scholarship is a ₦1.2 billion, 10-year initiative launched in 2025 to support indigent but talented undergraduates at FUTMINNA. Each year, 20 to 40 students receive ₦300,000 to ease financial burdens and promote academic focus. The program reflects OPay’s commitment to education and youth development in Nigeria.

Requirements

  • You are a full-time student (at least 12 points).
  • You applied for financial aid on time.
  • You are meeting the Satisfactory Academic Progress standards.
  • You have approximately the same amount of financial need that you had in prior years.

Guidance and Advice

The “One-Day Workshop/Webinar for Graduating Students” is a focused career development event designed to equip final-year students with essential skills for life after university. It covers key topics such as CV writing, job search strategies, interview techniques, and transitioning into the workforce. The session also provides opportunities to interact with industry professionals and gain practical insights into career planning and workplace expectations.

The Step-Down Training for All Career Development Centre Staff is a capacity-building program aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of the Centre’s team members. It focuses on sharing updates from recent workshops, introducing best practices in career counseling, and improving service delivery to students. This internal training ensures that all staff are aligned, well-informed, and equipped to provide consistent, high-quality support to students and graduates.
