Engr. Awwal Bisallah is a Chemical Engineer with over 24 years experience in the fields of energy studies and industrial technology. He is an expert in bilateral and multilateral partnerships in the field of nuclear energy with extensive international experience in the peaceful uses of nuclear science and technology. Engr. Bisallah has worked in different organisations including the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Solid Minerals Development and the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission. At different times, he was Personal Assistant to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Mines and Solid Minerals Development, the head of the Nigerian National Data Centre for the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organisation (CTBTO), Africa Liaison Officer for the Internation Network for Emerging Nuclear Specialists (INENS), Steering Committee Member of the International Framework for Nuclear Energy Cooperation (IFNEC), Secretary of the National Nuclear Medicine Management Committee of Nigeria, Secretary, Nigeria -Russia Joint Coordination Committee for nuclear power plant development in Nigeria, Member, Committee on Nigeria’s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Integrated Work Plan (IWP) for nuclear power infrastructure Development. At the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission, he is currently a Deputy Director and Head of International Cooperation and Liaison Department as well as the National Liaison Assistant for the IAEA in Nigeria coordinating Nigeria’s Technical Cooperation with the IAEA for National, Regional and Interregional Programmes and projects. He is a Member of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, Nigerian Society of Engineers, World Institute of Nuclear Security, World Energy Council (WEC) etc. Engr. Bisallah is a fellow of the United Nations, Korean International Cooperation Agency, International Atomic Energy Agency and The Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organisation. He has presented Nigeria’s National Statements, conference and seminar papers both locally and internationally including at the United Nations (UN), New York, Austin, Texas, USA, IAEA, Vienna, Austria, Israel, South Korea, Germany, South Africa, United Kingdom, France, Paraguay, Ecuador, Tunisia, Ghana, Algeria, Israel etc. He is a winner of the World Institute of Nuclear Security global competition in 2021. Mr. Bisallah was a scholar of the NNPC/Chevron National University Scholarship for his Bachelors of Engineering Degree in Chemical Engineering degree at the Federal University of Technology, Minna. He was a member of Nigerian Project Implementation Team that carried out the Wind Energy Mapping of Nigeria. Engr Bisallah is currently a member of the National Focal Team for the IAEA imPACT Review Mission to Nigeria.
