Biography

Engr, Nneka is a Chief Petroleum Engineer with the Ministry of Petroleum Resources Abuja, she studied Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Technology Minna, Niger State and also holds an Msc. in Environmental Engineering and Management from the University of Port Harcourt.

She began her Career as a Health Safety and Environment Advisor with the Shell Petroleum Development Company (As a contract Staff) on the Afam VI power project and Okoloma Gas Plant.

At the end of her contract with the SPDC, she worked briefly with Hessron Safety Consultants before joining the Ministry of Petroleum Resources as a Senior Chemical Engineer but was later converted to a Petroleum Engineer in line with the cadre existing in the civil service at the time. She has steadily progressed in her career to become a Chief Petroleum Engineer.

In the course of her career, she has attended several workshops, seminars and trainings both within and outside the country to equip her better for a future in the oil and gas industry especially in the areas of Climate Change, Decarbonisation of the oil and gas value chain and new energies.

She is a member of the following professional bodies which have aided in shaping her professional outlook:
