Admission into the Master of Technology Degree in Library and Information Technology is open to graduates of Library and Information Technology/Science of FUT, Minna and Library and Information Science of other recognized universities. Such graduates must have a minimum of:

1. Second Class Lower Degree in Library and Information Science or Library and Information Technology.
2. Post Graduate Diploma in Library and Information Science/Technology

PGD Entry Requirements:

1. The candidates should possess at least third class in BTech Library and Information Technology from Federal University of Technology, Minna or Bachelor of Library Science from any other recognized University.
2. First degree with a minimum of second-class lower division in any discipline.

• HND with minimum of Lower Credit in any discipline

a) Professional Master in Disaster Risk Management and Development Studies (Full-time only).

2. A Third-class Degree with Postgraduate Diploma in any of the areas and at least 2 years of working experience in relevant fields may be considered

Duration of Programme

The teaching and research programme will run for one (1) year spread over three (3) semesters or at least 18 month and maximum of 36 months.

 

Entry Requirements Professional PGD:

1. Minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences, Social Sciences, and other related fields from recognized institutions.
2. Minimum of Lower Credit pass in Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least 2 years of working experience in relevant fields.
3. Evidence of National Youth Service (NYSC discharged Certificate or exemption letter)

Course Duration

The programme will be based on coursework and independent research and will run full-time.

The duration of the programme is a minimum of three semesters (18 months) and maximum of six semesters (36 months)

1. Professional Master in Sustainable Urban Development (Full-time only)

3. Postgraduate Diploma in Local Economic Development (PGD=LED) (Full-time only)

      Entry Requirements for Professional PGD

• A Minimum of HND at Lower Credit in any related discipline or First Degree with a minimum of Third Class from Environmental/Social Sciences and Engineering background.

            Entry Requirements Professional Masters:

• First Degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower in any discipline in Environmental Sciences, Science, Social Science, Agriculture or Engineering; or
• A Postgraduate Diploma in any relevant field for holders of Higher National Diploma with a minimum of Lower Credit.
• First Degree graduate with third class and a working experience of over three (3) years are also considered for admission, especially those in the Federal and States Ministry/ Agencies of the Environmental, Lands, Housing and Urban Development.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Tech PROGRAMME

Candidates for admission to the M. Tech programmes of the Africa Centre of Excellence for Mycotoxin and Food Safety shall possess the following requirements:

1. National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Certificate or Exemption Certificate (Nigerians only).
2. Academic Transcripts.
3. At least a Second-Class Lower Honour Degree (50% Cumulative Score) or its equivalent for foreign candidates.
4. A Third-Class Honour Degree with at least three years post qualification experience in a relevant field may be considered.
5. A recognized PGD with a minimum of Lower Credit (CGPA of 2.50) in relevant fields with at least one year post qualification experience may be considered.
6. Three referees, one of whom must be his/her supervisor or an academic advisor must be provided.
7. A qualifying examination may be necessary.

 

• First degree graduates with Masters from the following areas: Food Safety, Food Toxicology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Veterinary Medicine, Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Food Science, Animal Science, Crop Science and Plant Pathology are qualified to apply for the M. Tech programme in Food Safety, Molecular Biology & Bioinformatics and Toxicology.

 

• Candidates from non-English speaking countries (Francophone countries are to undergo proficiency training in English Language (maximum of six months). The waiting period for the training is not counted as part of the candidate’s academic programme duration.

 

2.0 PhD PROGRAMME

Candidates for admission to the PhD programme of the Africa Centre of Excellence for Mycotoxin and Food Safety shall have the following requirements:

 

1. Nigerian applicants must have National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Certificate or Exemption certificate.
2. Academic Transcripts.
3. Must be Master’s Degree graduates as stated in section 1.1 and must have attained an average performance of ‘B’ grade or weighted average of 60% or a minimum CGPA of 3.50
4. Research proposals are to be uploaded on the application platform.
5. Three referees, one of whom must be his/her supervisor or an academic advisor must be provided

2.1.      Candidates without relevant background in Food Safety, Molecular Biology & Bioinformatics or Toxicology will be required to audit core courses from the Masters programme on assessment of their Academic transcripts by the Academic Board of the Centre.

2.2.      Admission shall strictly be in line with the guidelines of Postgraduate School, Federal University of Technology, Minna.

2.3.      Admission into the PhD programme shall be TWICE in a year, beginning of a new Academic Session and commencement of second semester of every Academic session.

 

MTech in Land Governance

Admission Requirements

Admission (entry) to the Master’s degree programme is open to all graduates of NUC accredited Universities in Nigeria and other recognised Institutions abroad. A candidate for admission into M. Tech Land Governance should possess the following requirements.

1. Minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) in Bachelor’s Degree in Estate Management, Urban and Regional Planning, Geography, Surveying and Geo-informatics             and other related fields in Social Sciences, Agriculture, Environmental Sciences and         Engineering from recognised institutions.
2. A Third-class Degree with a Postgraduate Diploma in any of the above areas and at least 3 years of working experience in relevant fields may be considered.
3. Evidence of National Youth Service (NYSC discharged Certificate or exemption letter.)

 

Programme Duration

The teaching and research programme will run for one (1) year spread over three (3) semesters or at least 18 months and a maximum of 36 months.

 

PGD in Land Governance

Admission Requirements

Admission (entry) to the Post Graduate Diploma programme is open to all HND graduates of NBTE accredited Polytechnic/colleges and graduates of NUC accredited Universities in Nigeria and other recognised Institutions abroad. A candidate for admission into PGD Land Governance should possess the following requirements.

1. Third-class degrees in relevant fields may be considered.
2. A higher National Diploma in the relevant field may be considered.
3. Evidence of National Youth Service (NYSC discharged Certificate or exemption letter for Nigerians)

Programme Duration

The teaching and research programme will run for one (1) year spread over three (3) semesters or at least 18 months and a maximum of 36 months.

 

The programmes have the following mode of study:

1. Postgraduate Diploma in Fintech and Financial Blockchain (Full-time only)
2. Professional Masters of Technology in Fintech Blockchain (Full-time only) 

Candidates seeking admission into the Postgraduate Diploma in Fintech and Financial Blockchain Programme must satisfy the following general and specific requirements: 

Entry Requirements for PGD 

1. B.Sc. or B. Tech from any recognised institution with a minimum of a Third-Class degree in relevant, related, or allied disciplines.
2. Candidates with HND in relevant and allied courses can also be admitted into the programme.

 

Candidates seeking admission into the Professional Masters of Technology in Fintech Blockchain programme must satisfy the following general and specific requirements:

1. A minimum of a second-class lower degree of the Federal University of Technology, Minna or any other recognised university in relevant, related, or allied disciplines. 
2. A Third-Class degree with at least 3 years graduation experience in relevant fields may be considered. 
3. Candidates with HND with a minimum of Lower Credit, OND Lower Credit and a Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant field with at least a minimum of Lower Credit and one-year graduation experience may be considered.
