The Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, the Deji and Paramount Ruler of Akure Kingdom has pledged to work with the Governing Council and Management to make the University the best.
Oba Aladelusi stated this on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 when he received members of the University Governing Council and Management led by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Prof. Olu Obafemi in his Palace in Akure.
The Monarch thanked President Buhari for appointing him as Chancellor of the University, noting that the people of Akure were happy with the development as the appointment is the first of its kind in the history of the Kingdom.
He noted that online checks he did on the FUT, Minna showed the institution has great achievements and prayed God to continue to bless the University.
Earlier, in his speech, the Pro-Chancellor had informed the revered Monarch that FUT, Minna is one of the the most cosmopolitan institutions in the country.
“I am pleased to inform you that the Federal University of Technology, Minna is a leading and performing specialized University in Nigeria. I must also state that it is clear to us from our very robust interactions that members of the Senate and Congregation of the University are vibrant and committed to the well being and progress of the University. During those interactive sessions, Kabiyesi, I gave assurances of the Council’s unanimity in leading the University to greater attainments,” the Pro-Chancellor further disclosed.
On his part, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Bala FSSSN, disclosed that the Monarch is the fourth Chancellor in the life of the University.
He said that every strata of the society is represented in the University and expressed happiness at meeting with the Chancellor.
Highlight of the event at the capacity-filled 400 years old Palace was the presentation of the letter of appointment and congratulatory message to the Chancellor by the Pro-Chancellor, Prof. Obafemi.
The Vice-Chancellor also presented some books written in honour of the Pro-Chancellor and the University’s Magazines to the Monarch.
Members of Council present at the occasion were: Hon. Abubakar Muhammad Maru, Hon. Cletus Obun, Dr. Chike Onwe, Profs. Adamu Yusuf Kabiru and Rasheed Olakunle Ojutiku
The Registrar, Mr. Amos Nmadu Kolo, the Bursar, Mrs. Hadiza Goje, fcna, fcti and the Deputy Director, Information and Publications Unit, Mrs Lydia Legbo were also at the event.
