VC THINKS REACTIVATING CCCF AS MAIKUNKELE ELDERS EXPRESS APPRECIATION

In furtherance of the concept of community service, the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Prof. Abdullahi Bala, fsssn has expressed the hope of reactivating the Campus / Community Communication Forum (CCCF).
The Vice-Chancellor stated this on Thursday, November 19, 2020 when officials of Ebmi Zata Kaba ,elders’ forum from Maikunkele, Bosso Local Government Area, paid him a courtesy visit at the Senate Chamber, Main Campus.
Prof. Bala underscored the fact that CCCF serves as a feedback mechanism for both parties.
Thanking the forum for deeming it fit to come and interact with the University Management, Prof. Bala assured the Maikunkele community that they will not suffer any disadvantage for hosting the institution.
The VC reiterated that it was only natural and logical for host communities of universities to responsibly express and seek, to be able to maximize the benefits due to them from such universities.
On student admission, he said the University under his leadership has always ensured that candidates from Niger State who meet the minimum requirement secure placement in the institution.
He expressed the hope that the visit will result in more fruitful relationship and noted that the objective of the association, which is progress of the community aligns with the core mandate of the University that is community service.
Earlier, Chairman of Ebmi Zata Kaba Mall. Aminu Ma’aji who led the delegation, expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor for his support to their members in the University, just as he appealed for more employment opportunities and admission of the people into programmes in the University.
He said the visit was to strengthen the relationship between their community and FUT, Minna, adding that they were happy with the University helmsman and would continue to pray for him.
Ma’aji disclosed that the forum is a non-tribal, non-political and non-religious body, with membership open to people above 35 years, living in Maikunkele.
Present during the courtesy visit were the Registrar of the University, Mr. Amos Nmadu Kolo and the Ag. University Librarian, Dr. Muhammed Bitagi.
