VC COMMISSIONS PROF ABDULLAHI BALA SPORTS COMPLEX

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Prof. Abdullahi Bala, fsssn has commissioned the newly built Prof. Abdullahi Bala Sports Complex by the P.T.A of the University Staff School for the Staff School.
The ceremony was held on Monday, January 17, 2021, at the University staff school premises, Bosso Campus.
The Vice-Chancellor while commissioning the complex congratulated the School’s P.T.A members led by Prof. Mohammed Adamu for their commitments, contributions, and judicious use of limited resources towards the development of the school.
Prof. Bala who said that sports teaches lessons of life such as teamwork, accountability, self-confidence and prepares pupils to face the challenges of life assured the school of Management continuous support. He advised the P.T.A and other staff of the school to engage the pupils in sporting activities and make proper use of the facilities.
Earlier, the Chairman of the School’s Board Committee, Prof. Robert Okworie commended the University Management and the P.T.A for their taste for success.
In his remarks, P.T.A chairman, Prof. Mohammed Adamu disclosed that the Complex is named after Prof Bala because of his commitment and support towards the growth of the school.
He thanked the Vice-Chancellor and his team for their unending support and commitment in ensuring that the University staff school becomes the best private school in Niger State and Nigeria at large.
The chairman also expressed appreciation to the former speaker Niger State House of Assembly and a serving member representing Chanchaga Constituency at the Niger State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Marafa Guni for his love and immense contributions to the development of the school and commended his predecessor, Prof. Danteni Wushishi, Registrar/CEO NECO, for laying a good foundation on which they are building.
In their goodwill messages, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Marafa Guni and Prof. Danteni Wushishi congratulated the P.T.A members and the school for naming the sports complex after a leader per excellence worthy of emulation
The Complex is equipped with facilities for Lawn tennis, Table tennis, Scrabble, Cheese, and Ludo. The P. T. A also plastered and painted part of western and eastern sides of the staff school fence and purchased three Television sets and DVDs for the nursery section.
