In a bid to increase productivity, effectiveness and smooth running of the Africa Centre of Excellence for Mycotoxin and Food Safety (ACEMFS), Federal University of Technology, Minna, The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), has donated a brand new Toyota Hilux vehicle, office equipment and furniture worth over N33,747,045.00 (thirty- three million, Seven hundred and forty-seven thousand, forty – five Naira) only to the Centre.
At the brief hand-over ceremony today, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adullahi Bala, Fssn while receiving the key of the vehicle and other items from the Director, Physical Planning and Development Unit, Arch Idris Alhassan at the Academic Publishing Centre, FUT, Minna Main Campus commended ACEMFS for its dynamic effort in moving the university forward.
Prof. Bala noted that the centre has enhanced the profile of the University as a result of it’s hard work and dedication to assigned responsibilities. He added that as a token the University Management approached TETFUND for assistance and they saw the need and gave approval for this donation to the Centre. “This is a very good gesture from TETFUND”, Prof. Bala enthused.
Praising the effort of the centre, the Vice-Chancellor further said “to whom much is given much is expected”, he called on the leadership of the Centre to make judicious use of the items so as to add high value impact to the University’s operation.
While presenting the items to the Centre leader, Prof. Hussaini Makun, the Vice-Chancellor reiterated its commitment to the centre and assured him of continuos institutional support.
Responding, the highly elated Centre leader, expressed appreciation to TETFUND and the University Management for the kind gesture.
Prof. Makun said from inception, the Vice-Chancellor has clearly demonstrated unflinching interest and support to the centre. He then promised that the centre will internationalize Post graduate studies, in FUT, Minna and also put the institution in the world stage in terms of high impact publications as well as revenue generation.
The Centre leader also appreciated the management of the University for all the capacity building trainings availed to the staff and disclosed that the foreign partners of the centre have been very supportive and will help the centre achieve its goals.
Items donated to the centre include, one 2018 Model 4 Wheel Drive Toyota Hilux, (2) HP Desktop Intel Pentium, 500 GB HDD, 4GB RAM, Flat Screen Monitor, Window 10 (2) Thermocool Refrigerator, (1) Standard Computer Table, (1) Executive Table, (2) Semi Executive Table, (1) High Back Executive Arm Swive Chair, (2) Semi Executive Arm Swivel Chair, (10) visitors Chair, (2) 2.5 horse power window split AC and (1) Fire proof safe.
