The team leader, Prof. Tanimu Abubakar thanked the Management for its hospitality and said that the purpose of their visit was to assess the students’ support facilities and to also ensure that there is a balance between students and the academic staff with respect to the teaching and learning environment.

After going round the both Campuses to inspect the facilities, the team leader mentioned some areas that needed to be improved on.

Prof. Abubakar said that the student should be involved in the decision making process to strengthen the channel for addressing grievances, adding that Management should also provide a scholarship and support programme for brilliant and indigent students.

Responding, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Emmanuel Udensi on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor appreciated members of the team, assuring them that the Management will address all the challenges that had been identified.

He assured that, the Management will ensure that more facilities are provided and made available to students.
The DVC also explained that Management already has an open door policy with the students and the Campus Radio is also open for communication between Management and student on how to channel their grievances.

He thanked the assessors for their report and assured them that there would be tremendous improvement in the identified area before their next visit to the University.
