The brief ceremony took place yesterday at the VC’s Conference Room, Main Campus.

Speaking before presenting the award, the Chairman, SOURCE500, Comrade Oloruntoba Price Godwin said the award was in recognition of the VC’s commitment to the development of the University.

“The students agreed to honour you for your selfless and dedicated service to the University. This award is a token of our appreciation to you and also to tell you that we are proud of you”, he disclosed.

Responding, Prof. Bala commended the students’ body for finding him worthy for the award.

The VC stated that it is a pride that 500 level students of the University are coming together to form a body that would provide something tangible for themselves to look back at after graduation instead of pouring water and sand on each other on the day of their final papers.

He added that the Leave-a-legacy programme of the University has done a lot for the institution in terms of projects donated by final years since it was introduced in 2012.

Prof. Bala reiterated the University’s commitment to students’ welfare and urged the students to continue to be good ambassadors of the University.

“We cannot be comfortable when our students are not comfortable and without students we cannot be here”, he disclosed.
