FUTMinna Holds Training For Staff On Results Computation

Information Technology Services(ITS) of the Federal University of Technology, Minna has successfully conducted a 2-day training for Heads of Department, Departmental Examination Officers and their assistants on results processing software and e-result application.

The training took place on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), IT Hub, Main campus.

Declaring the training open, the Vice- Chancellor of the University, Prof. Abdullahi Bala, fsssn, stressed the importance of the software to all examiners as well as the need for its proper utilization.

He further emphasised the need to ensure that students’ results and information are completely uploaded in order to avoid difficulties in adding additional information to the software.

The VC advised users of the software to always contact ITS for technical support when in doubt.

Prof. Bala commended ITS for its role in the area of capacity building for staff of the University while describing ITS as valuable asset to the University.

Prof. Bala added that the results processing software has been further developed into full package to cater for the needs of all departments in the University.

He commended the Director of ITS for the series of innovations he has introduced since he was appointed.

Speaking earlier, the Director, ITS, Prof. Mohammed Alhaji Adamu reiterated the importance of refresher trainings for HODs, departmental examiners and their assistants in order to bring them upto speed with contemporary trends in the usage of the software.

The Director disclosed that the first results processing software version started in the Department of Mathematics in 2002 while the second edition of the software was created in 2011-2012 academic session which was completely different from the first version with many features.

Prof. Adamu further stated that the software would ease allocation of courses, computing of results and uploading of students’ attendance to avoid mistakes.
The software which was developed by the Institution’s ITS, is made up of online version and local system version.
