The immediate past Students’ Union President, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Comrade Fajoye Ayodeji Mathew (AY Package) has commended the Bursar of the institution, Mrs. Hadiza Goje, fcna, fcti, for doing a great job so far since her appointment.
The commendation came during a courtesy visit on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at the Bursar’s Office, Main Campus, Gidan Kwano.
Speaking during the visit, which the ex-student leader described as a solidarity visit to felicitate with her on her appointment as the Bursar of the revered institution; Comrade Fajoye described Mrs. Goje as a round peg in a right hole, adding that the entire student body was excited with the news of her appointment in October 2020.
He applauded the Bursar for the motherly role she played for the Union during his tenure as Students’ Union President of the University, while noting that the Union has nothing to give her in appreciation but would continue to pray for her to succeed in her new portfolio. Also, the ex-student leader disclosed that the Bursar’s unprecedented support to the Union during his tenure made him to travel from Osun State where he is undergoing the mandatory National Youth Service to felicitate with her and to appeal to her to continue to support the Union.
“We appreciate you for supporting our Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Bala, fsssn, in his quest to move FUT, Minna forward,” he stated.
Responding, Mrs. Goje, fcna, fcti, expressed delight to the former Students’ Union leader for coming back after graduation to felicitate with her. The Bursar stated that the gesture was proof that the ex-students’ leader still has the Union in mind by providing the much-needed support and mentoring to the present Students’ Union leaders of the University.
The finance czar commended him for the visit and urged other Union leaders to continue to support the Union even after their graduation.
“We are here because of the students, if there are no students, we would not be in FUT, Minna. We are here to serve, guide and protect students to become better citizens for the country and the world at large. We pray that God will help us to continue to do the needful so that we can move the University, Niger State and Nigeria to greater heights,” she stated.
The highpoint of the visit was the presentation of a portrait by the ex-students’ leader to the Bursar.
Comrade Fajoye was accompanied by other former executive members of the Union. He held sway as the Students’ Union President during the 2018/2019 academic session.
