The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Prof. Abdullahi Bala, fsssn, (Walin Zazzau, Suleja) has congratulated Christian faithful of the University as they celebrate the Christmas and New Year festivities.
The Vice-Chancellor’s message was contained in a statement issued today Friday, December 25, 2020 to the University’s Information and Publications Unit.
Prof. Bala urged Christian faithful of the institution to emulate the teachings of the life and times of Jesus Christ, while admonishing them to think about the fundamental doctrines of Christianity which centre on love, peace, unity, faithfulness, love for neighbours and perseverance.
The Vice-Chancellor who is also the Chairman, Association of West Africa Universities (AWAU), urged them to continue to pray for the progress of the country as well as that of the Federal University of Technology, Minna in its quest to be the leading institution in the country and the world at large through the conduct of novel research that would proffer solutions to global challenges.
Prof. Bala disclosed that as public health restrictions continue to ease around the globe, concerns remain about the prospects for a second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Consequently, he counselled staff and students of the University to continue to stay safe and comply with the latest public health protocols as laid down by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
The Alumnus of the University of Reading, UK, maintained that by adhering to the public health safety measures, the University community would be playing its part in preventing the spread of the virus.
The don further wished the University staff, students and host community a resplendent Christmas and New Year celebrations.
