In line with efforts to provide effective support for learning and instructional facilities in schools, the Federal University of Technology, Minna, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the foremost agency known for the promotion, training and production of science equipment – National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).
The signing ceremony took place recently at SEDI, International Conference Hall, Abuja.
The MoU is geared towards the production, promotion, training and capacity building of mobile teaching aid invented by Engr. Sadiq Lawal of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Federal University of Technology, Minna. Speaking at the event, Executive Vice-Chairman/CEO, National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Engr. Prof. Mohammed Sani Haruna commended the University Management for finding NASENI worthy of the partnership, stating that every one present is important to the Agency because without parties involved, the Agency cannot deliver on its mandate.
He stated that the agency cannot be carrying out research, workshop operations, manufacturing activities as well as marketing as there are experts in those areas who should be allowed to add value.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) and the representative of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Emmanuel Emeka Udensi who led the the University’s delegation stated that the collaboration will enhance mutual benefits for the parties involved.
The University’s delegation also included the Registrar, Mr. Amos Nmadu Kolo; Director, Directorate of Research Innovation and Development (DRID) and Coordinator, Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Office (IPTTO), Prof. Moses Olutoye; Deputy Director, Legal Unit, Barr. Evelyn Makun; University Patent Officer and Inventor, Multifunctional Mobile Teaching Aid, Engr. Sadiq Lawal.
