Based on the University's huge investment in Information and Communication Technology, the Honourable Minister of Education, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau interacted with the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Musbau Adewumi Akanji, FNSBMB, and other Vice-Chancellors of public universities in Nigeria via a live video-conferencing from the National Universities Commission (NUC), Abuja.
The VC and other Management staff hooked up to the live streaming via the state-of-the-art-facilities at the University Information Technology Services on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the Main Campus.
While addressing the 27 public owned universities already connected to (NgREN) simultaneously, Mal. Shekarau said the NUC's Nigeria Research and Education Network (NgREN) project was a milestone and has brought Nigeria at par with top universities in the world, adding that the federal government is proud of the project.
The Minister charged the universities to make maximum use of the facilities and get the best out of it. NgREN is aimed at ensuring a seamless knowledge flow between Nigerian Educational institutions and their counterparts around the world.
