The VC gave this assurance on Monday, May 6, 2019 when the executive members of the Association paid him a courtesy visit at the VC’s Conference Room, Main Campus.

Speaking during the visit, Prof. Bala expressed gratitude to the students for making out time to visit him and for their best wishes to him on the occasion of his birthday.

“Thank you for the birthday wishes and for the gift. It makes you all to be a worthy children”, the VC disclosed.

The VC reiterated his administration’s commitment to the welfare and safety of students on campus, noting that all lecture theatres and classrooms in the University would be given a facelift while large classes would be provided with public address system.

On the proposed excursion by the students’ body, he urged them to choose institutions or organizations that would provide them with practical experience which he noted was an integral component of practical training in Agriculture.

“You have to define your scope and aims rather than just going for the sake of an excursion. You need to target a value place and not just to travel. What are the deliverables expected from students after the excursion. So, look at the institutions that can assist you in the practical aspects of your programme”, the VC advised.

The University helmsman further disclosed that the University Management would soon flag off an agricultural training school aimed at providing students and youth from the University’s host community with better exposure on agricultural business and entrepreneurship.

Prof. Bala assured the students that Management would look into the issue of the swampy routes in the School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology with the view of making students and staff to move freely during raining season while noting that if possible, the swampy areas would be interlocked for easy access for students.

He assured the students of the University Management support and cooperation.

Speaking earlier, the President NAAS, Comrade Saidu Adamu Dashiru said the purpose of the visit was for them to greet their father and to wish him well on his birthday.
